About me

Hi, I’m Mateusz, a cybersecurity professional based in London and the person behind CyberPrepHub.

I currently work as a Security Consultant in the UK financial services sector, where my experience has included security consulting, vulnerability management and remediation, investigating critical vulnerabilities, and security testing.

Cybersecurity is a field where there is always something new to learn. Over the years, I have spent a lot of time studying security concepts, preparing for professional certifications and, most importantly, applying that knowledge in real environments.

Along the way, I have achieved certifications including CompTIA Security+, CompTIA PenTest+ and ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC). In July 2026, I also passed the CISSP examination, following several years of learning and developing my experience across different areas of cybersecurity.

Why I created CyberPrepHub

CyberPrepHub grew out of something I repeatedly noticed while studying cybersecurity: many relatively simple concepts are often explained in unnecessarily complicated ways.

A definition might technically be correct, but still leave you wondering what it actually means in practice.

I wanted to create a place that does things differently.

The aim of CyberPrepHub is to take cybersecurity topics and explain them in a way that is:

  • clear enough to understand;
  • detailed enough to be useful;
  • practical rather than purely theoretical;
  • easy to return to when you need a refresher.

Much of the content is influenced by the topics I have encountered during my own professional development and certification journey, particularly while studying for the CISSP.

However, CyberPrepHub is not intended to be simply another collection of exam notes. My goal is to build a broader cybersecurity learning and reference resource that can be useful whether you are preparing for a certification, beginning a career in security, or already working in the industry.

My approach to cybersecurity

One of the things I enjoy most about cybersecurity is understanding why something works rather than simply memorising a definition.

Knowing that confidentiality, integrity and availability form the CIA Triad is useful.

Understanding how those principles influence the design of a banking application, how a vulnerability creates business risk, or why a particular security control exists is much more valuable.

That is the approach I try to bring to CyberPrepHub.

Where possible, I want articles to connect the terminology with realistic scenarios, relationships between concepts, practical security controls and the kinds of decisions security professionals actually have to make.

Learning never really stops

Cybersecurity changes constantly.

Technologies evolve, new vulnerabilities appear, attackers change their techniques, regulations develop and the way organisations build systems continues to change.

That means I am still learning too.

CyberPrepHub is partly a way for me to organise and reinforce what I learn, while hopefully making that knowledge useful to other people at the same time.

I will continue expanding the site as I explore new areas of security and develop further in my own career.

Accuracy and independence

I try to make the material on CyberPrepHub accurate, practical and easy to understand. Where appropriate, I refer to established standards, recognised security frameworks and authoritative sources.

CyberPrepHub is an independent personal project.

The content published here represents my own views and educational work. It does not represent the views of my employer and should not be interpreted as advice or guidance provided on behalf of any organisation I work for.

CyberPrepHub is also not affiliated with ISC2, CompTIA or other certification organisations unless explicitly stated.

I’m always happy to connect with people working in cybersecurity, technology and security consulting, as well as those who are simply starting to explore the field.
